No Dvd Audio

2004 GMC Yukon Denali.

The manual says that once the DVD is playing there should be a DVD symbol on the radio, then I should select the DVD as audio source by pressing TAPE/DISC until DVD is highlighted, or choose DVD from using the SOURCE button. But the DVD symbol never shows up even while the DVD is playing, and DVD is not an option under SOURCE or TAPE/DISC.

Either I'm just doing something wrong, or there is a problem.

Also might be after market DVD, with missing head phones.

Cannot select DVD audio from rear entertainment center either.

Did this model come with a DVD player?

If so, how do we listen to it? It plays the movie, but cannot access sound.

Please help!

Make sure the RSE(Read Seat Entertainment) is powed on. Then hit the CD/TAPE/Whatever button on the radio as it says.

Should send signals to wireless headphones reguardless of RSE power state. Wired headphones should work when plugged into the Rear Seat Audio Controller.

Rear DVD was an option for that year model, but that does not mean this one is factory if you are unsure. Some aftermarket DVD units require you to tune to a specific radio station.

Have you asked anyone to run a VIS from your VIN number to see if its a factory RPO?(I think your RPO list is in your glove compartment, look for U42)

Also, can you read a brandname on it?

Thanks for your response Supertech64,

It helps to know whether it was an option or not. And your suggestion for aftermarket unit tuned to a specific station was right on.

Actually, I took it back to where I got it and the sales guy has a DVD player in his vehicle. So he brought his wireless headphones and tried them in my Denali and you could hear the movie just fine. Then he started pushing buttons, specifically the PIC button, and on the PIC menu there is an FM option, under which you select a specific radio station or frequency, then you tune your radio to that frequency, and there you have your audio! This is probably an aftermarket player. I guess I just should have pushed more buttons and explored more. It's tough when there's no manual.

Thanks for responding.
