my power mirrors havent been working....nothing happens when i hit the switch to adjust them. and then a couple days ago the switch for the passenger side power window goofed up. the down dosent work. so i can still move it up if its down, but nothing happens when i hit the switch in the down direction. i have new door speakers to put in so now is a good time to fix the swithchs. any ideas where to start looking for the problem? any way to test the switchs to determine if they are the problem?

thanks,

Power Mirrors - Check 3A Mir/Lock fuse in left I/P fuse panel. If the fuse is good check for 12vdc on pin G (orange wire) and do a continuity check for ground on pin B (black wire) at the switch. If both of those are good you probably have a switch problem since there are 4 different motors involved (2 motors per mirror).

Pass Side Window - does the window work properly using the pass side switch? I'm assuming your problem is related to the switch on the drivers door panel?

I'm also looking at wiring diagrams for my 02 but it should be close enough to lend some assistance. Keep us posted.

Normal electrical testing procedures with a multimeter for the electrical components (motors, actuators, switches). For the mirrors, make sure to check the actuator cables are connected.

thanks. the passenger side window switch works perfectly....up and down.

The drivers side switch for the pass window controls two relays that are located in the pass side switch to raise and lower it. Odds are that you aren't getting a ground from your drivers side switch pin C to the pass side switch pin L (tan wire). There are several ways to go about checking this out with both a meter and by temporarily jumpering a wire to provide ground. How are your electrical skills?

Everything I've pointed out so far make sense then? If so let me know what you find out when you start digging into it....
