Another Question In Regards To Hid's

Hey guys, I just had new HID's installed as my low's and I have a quick question about them. Is there anyway you can stop the headlights from coming on when you unlock the doors. I know the parklights will flash, but I wanna I know can you stop the headlights from coming on even though they are automatic. Thanks in advance, and I highly recommend HID's. Fogs and HB's are next.

Have you changed the setting in the DIC to turn off Approach Lighting?

+1 ... and if you don't want the DRL's coming on, after you turn the truck on (yeah, I know that sounds bad), see here for more info.

Ya I already removed the DRL fuse. Its weird but there was only one fuse for the DRL's on my truck. I thought that was weird since most guys on here say there is 2 fuses to remove.

Keep looking. We have the same year model of truck. There's a second fuse in there, unless someone already pulled it. Refer to the pictures in that other thread I mentioned.

Yup I did and there is only one DRL fuse its #32, #34 says not used. Now I dunno if there is a difference in trucks in Canada and the US cuz its law up here for DRL's. Also my truck was built right at the cut off before 08's were started to be built. Maybe they just used one fuse for short cut. Ya never know....

Well, mine was built in Canada, but for the US market. It seems odd that they'd change up the fuse box like that, between US market and Canadian market. But, who knows?

If they're not coming on now, that's probably all you need to do. Early on, I was told there was one fuse for the right DRL and one fuse for left.. I never verified that, though.

By the way : I thought, by law, you guys "had" to run DRL's?

I only removed fuse 32 when disabling mine. I never removed 34 and my DRL's stay off as expected.

Any idea why they have two fuses, then, if only one being out disables them? :D

Maybe one powers the DRL circuit and the other powers the lights?

I had to pull both fuses to cut my drl off. I installed 4300k HIDs in the truck yesterday. The driver side was easy, just unbolt the washer fill neck and squeeze the bulb in. The passenger side, I took the air filter lid off and the base just pops off. The wiring was the most difficult part. :dunno:
