1998 Suburban Need To Know If Hd Radiator

Hello all,

I have a 1998 K1500 Suburban with the 5.7L 350 engine.

I think my radiator is completely clogged up and I might need a new one.

However, I cannot seem to tell if I have the heavy duty radiator or not. Is there an easy way to tell?

Thanks,

Chris

I believe only the 6.5L and the 7.4L got the HD radiators. I know my Suburban has the standard 1/2 ton radiator.

I was thinking there was a HD 1/2 ton radiator too though. Like for the heavy half trucks and considering this is a burb I think they do too as long as you have the tow package. But just measure the radiator. If it is over 2 inches thick you have a 2 row radiator. I think the 3 row one is the LD one and the 2 row is the HD one. Not 100% sure though.

If you post your VIN I can give you the GM & AC-Delco part numbers.

They "use to" go by the RPO code of "V01" or "V08",But they did away with that by '98.

Now it goes by if you have engine & tranny oil coolers, what axle ratio you have, and if you have an automatic or manual tranny.
