Front End Rattles Over Bumpy Or Washboard Type Roads.

Hey all. I think I have some front end issues.. :( (no, not that..) It's a clanking sound when going over washboard type dirt roads or even just slightly bumpy roads.

Everything appears and feels to be tight (while on the ground). I probably need to jack it up to take the weight off to do a proper inspection, eh?

Anyway, anyone have any good ideas as to what the culprit(s) might be?

Thanks

i dont know if this is your issue, but i and my bros 2500hds had a clanking or rattleing noise that we thought was coming from the front end but upon inspection we found out it is the leaves in the rear leafsprings clanking together cuz the little plastic pads in between them have fallin out. just an idea.

I had the same situation in my 05 Sierra 2500 HD . My problem was the Intermediate shaft up front was rattling loose. I took it into the dealer and seemed to fix it. sometimes on rough terrain it still does it but i think that its just the fact that its an 3/4 ton HD

Been trying to nail down the same problem. Only happens on washboard surface like you stated, and not at any other time. Already did intermediate shaft and truck is quiet and solid other times. As a footnote, I experiance this on the beach in hard sand, not a little rattle, sounds and feels like the frame is loose.drives me nuts!!!!!!

edit...plastic spacers are all there on the leaf's
