Bad News For You All Good New For Me...

Last week I finally had my MRI for my knee and today I had my follow up appointment to discuss the options and problems because of my injury....

 

So I definitely need to have surgery Doc says I have a torn miniscus, tear in my LCL and possibly my ACL is destroyed or completely torn...

What he recommended doing at this point is setting up the surgery for the arthroscopic surgery and be prepared for ACL reconstruction. He said that he would like for me to be off of my knee as far as working is concerned for 4 months if indeed I need ACL Reconstruction... But more likely 1-2 months..

 

I also learned that they now more commonly take part of the hamstring and use it for the ACL but I am going to stick with the Petaller Tendon procedure...

 

He also said that I may have damaged the Articular Cartilage which they will observe at surgery..

 

My surgery may not happen for another 3-4 weeks depending on how everything gets filed with workers comp...

 

 

So the bad news for you all is that I may be on here more than ever and the good news for me is I might get some time away from it all...

as to you being on here more often.... what kind of meds will kill our pain?

Good Luck! I had the same proceedure done a year ago on my left knee...Doc used my Patellar Tendon also. Works great now. If you get the choice between Vicodin and Percocet as a painkiller....go with the Vicodin! It's good sh*t.

Your prolly going to need something more than a pain killers.. Maybe a tranquilizer..

Yeah this surgery will be on the left knee as well but when I had it done on the right they gave my vicodin and that stuff knocked me out!

Glad you're getting your knee taken care of. I'm going in for another MRI on my ankle in Decemeber for a severe sprain I got LAST december and still hasn't healed. And I seriously messed up my knee a couple weeks go so maybe I'll get a 2fer. Or maybe I'll just have the doc take the whole leg...
