Questions About Electrical Hookup

I recently ordered a set of DL3 mirrors to replace my DL8 mirrors on my 08 Sierra. I was only interested in adding the turn signals in the mirrors and maybe the puddle lights if the wiring interchanges. I know I should have found this out before buying them, but it's too late for that. I really don't care if the power fold works or not so I won't be buying a switch to make the power fold work. I would just like to know if the wiring harness for the DL3 mirrors will plug into the trucks wiring harness where the DL8 mirrors used to plug into and work properly, except the power fold. I'd like to know before I tear into the doors and then find out they won't plug in, or should I just forget it? Has anybody done this and can shed some light.

Did you get any information or have you already made the change. I am going to do the same thing on a 07 2500HD classic model and would like info also.

It will work just fine. The DL3 has two plugs where the DL8 has only one but the one plug they have in common is the one for the heater, the adjustment and the signal. You'll just need to tape the other one up and keep it out of the way. I've done this swap and it really could not be simpler. Unplug, swap, plug back in, voila!
