Well after a solid month of truck driving school tomorrow is my final road test..  Wasnt too bad with a total cost of around 1800 bucks...

I have the shifting down as well as turns and backing.. My only weakness for the test will be the pre-trip inspection.. I ve gotta inspect almost every little thing on the truck and say it out loud so i sound like i know what i m doing..

The school did a really good job in teaching just because they were patient.. I guess you have to be when teaching on this kinda vehicle..

The longest period now of my life will be from 11:30 to 1:00 tomorrow...

Let us know how it goes.  I plan on getting my CDL before I get out of college.  Technically I don't need it since I will only be hauling grain off our farm, but I think it would be smart to have one in case I go over state lines.

Good luck on you test. I teach for a living and I want to offer just one tip. Be confident in yourself. If you do not show self confidence then how can your evaluator be confident in you.

I can't wait to read about your success.

Did you know that if you are going to cross state lines you have to have a physical current for that year.   We found that out at work, at least for going from Wisconsin to Illinois you do.  I guess they don't want the truck drivers crossing the border and then dying or something.

Chevy4ever:  Congrats, I hope you pass the test

Can't wait to hear that you passed your test.  I know all the hard work will pay off (it usually does)

I really out to get my CDL sometime, just don't know if I got the time to do it right now.

Well i would love to spread some good news around the world but it wasnt to be this time..

I drove perfectly *actually i drove better than i ever did in any lesson..* but my backing was horrible.. He gave me one shot at backing into the smallest spot i have ever seen and i got the trailer into the spot but the angle of the truck to the trailer had reached the 90 degree spot so i couldnt get it to turn back.. Plus i got marked on not checking if i had a first aid and a fire extinguisher *which kinda p'd me off*

I was told by a few people around the office that i ll have the hardest time getting my AZ licence because they dont like giving 20 year olds that kind of responsibility.. Just more reason for me to prove i can do it..

Oh well i know i ll get it next time..  Thanks for the wishes guys!!!

Sorry to hear about that.  The one good thing about forgetting something once, you'll never forget it again.  I know what a pain backing up those big vehicles can be.  At work we have a stake truck w/ a 20' bed and it's hard to back up.  I know that a semi w/ a trailer is even more impossible.  When you go for the test do they give you a semi to drive, or do you supply your own???  Dumb question I know, but someone's gotta ask.
