Hi all.. my cd player stopped working in my 00 Gmc and picked up a factory head unit from a 2006 model.. will this work or will I have to find one from a 2004 or older????

Mine looks like this... and this is from a 06 model.

If the plugs on the back match and they're the same size, I don't see why not. :D

You also have to make sure Theftlock isn't enabled on the new one.

Well the plugs are different.. but was wondering about maybe a harness to make it work.. really having a hard time finding a radio for my truck ..well stock radio..

Look on ebay, when I replaced mine there were a bunch on there, you just have to wait for a good deal. (and I got the exact radio you're looking for).

It's not going to work. The '03 through '07 radios are very different from the '95 through '02 radios like yours. The mounting and wiring is completely different. Not only are the '03+ radios roughly an inch taller, the '03+ radios are switched on/off by a data signal and not the ignition.

Unless you can't live without the factory look, get an aftermarket headunit, it will be MUCH better than any factory radio.
