You Wanna See Something Depressing?

So I bought a set of mirrors for my truck, paid instantly with Paypal and they came in the mail yesterday. When I picked up the box I could feel them moving around and felt sick even before opening them. They were thrown in a box with a couple pieces of newspaper for packing and the glass was shattered in one of them. The pivot point in the same mirror is sloppy loose. I contacted the seller via Email Wed. night and got no response. I may be out $225.00 before this is over with. Here is the pic of the auction and the pics of what I seen when I opened the box. These were described as Brand new take offs and they are muddy and covered in bug guts also, not to mention unusable. This is depressing.

That sucks, it really does. I hope that whomever you bought them from comes forward and makes it right. I assume it was a private sale (not Ebay). Something like those should have been packed in styrofoam chips and bubble wrapped. Like I said, I hope it works out in the end.

If you don't hear from the guy, file a claim with Paypal immediately. I've been paid back twice on stuff that came to me damages over the last three years. Most sellers will make good but Paypal probably will if they don't. Don't delay... Let us know what happens.

Dude that sucks!!! But yeah for sure make sure that you file with paypal... They will extract the money for sure if the seller does not cooperate!!!

It was an Ebay auction. He has perfect feedback so I felt very comfortable buying from him. I've sold stuff all over the world and never had a problem with breakage, but I've never seen such a packing job in my life. I told him last night in an email I would either like to return them or he could send me a replacement glass assembly. He is still listing more things on Ebay so I know he's on the computer. He ignored me all day so I did file a complaint with Paypal tonight when my inbox was without a response.

Heck no he is sending you a new set... Dont make bargains like that you are suppose to get what you bid on or your money back... If he has that much feedback I am sure that he has a return policy that will support this!

Yeah, since it is Ebay I would report it immediately since he is not responding to your e-mails. I have had to make complaints to Ebay in the past they were pretty good about making things right. Good luck.

That totally sucks! It's so disheartening when you buy something and it arrives broken and not as described. What an ass though of a seller to not even clean them up before shipping them to you.

 

+1 to all the suggestions of placing a complaint with eBay and PayPal on the purchase.

I'm hoping that's not the case. Here is his word for word sescription of the mirrors. If I don't get a response tomorrow then it will be my obligation to protect all my friends here from him so I'll post the auction then.

 

This auction is for one 2007-2008 new body style GM full-size truck takeoff red outside mirrors. Specifically, the mirrors will fit a 2007-2008 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra pick-up.
