Changed sparkplugs wires distributor cap, rotor, ignition modular, and fuel filter now my truck will not start. It turns over but tries to start but won't start and it pops through the carbureator. The Timing is correct Can anyone give me a clue as to what is wrong?

Are you sure you got the wires right? When an engine 'pops' it's usually because of a timing or firing order error.Be sure to dbl. check all wire connections especially the grounds....

1. you should not have a carburetor but rather a TBI system. Don't let it backfire too much, you will melt your fuel injectors.

2. Make sure you put the cap and rotor back on properly. Some vehicles it is possible to put the rotor in backwards.

3. Make sure the wires are routed properly and to the right cylinders from the right posts on the distributor cap.

4. How did you check your timing? Did you hook up a timing light and use that? Or did you set the mark on the balancer to the 0* mark and make sure the rotor pointed to where the #1 post on the cap would be? We need more details on what you've done. However, your problem should be able to be fixed for free.
