We've got some damn good tap water here too. Our well is slightly contaminated from all the farms that used to be around here, so the gov't pays for two 4-foot tall carbon filters (basically, two GIANT Brita filters. ) Cleanest water I've ever tasted.

Well... for the record. I am no water snob. Not at all. It's just that the water here SUCKS BIG FAT FRIKKIN HAIRY ONES. It's like liquified limestone mixed with clorox. You sure as hell wouldn't want to wash a car in it. When I lived in Austin the tap was a source of excellent water. Theirs comes from a lake... not a stinky limestone aquifer like it does here.

Huh, I like our aquifer water pretty well. Must have a different rock filter down there...Amarillo water is another story. Lake Meredith...now thats some nasty stuff.
