Fuel Contamination

Ok I have a 2000 Silverado 1500 5.3L vin T, Z71 extended cab, 6.5' bed. Appx. 135000 miles.

 

I have been battling a random misfire/clyinder 8 misfire problem with my truck.

 

Last year come to find little black "pepper" looking debris in my fuel rails along with some water.

 

I did the evap. sol. relocation, that moves it more under the bed, and replaced the charcoal canister. I also dropped the tank to clean it out (it was actually pretty clean), cleaned the fuel lines with carb clean, and compressed air. Changed the fuel filter, cleaned and flushed out both fuel rails on the bench, and used GM top end cleaner in a spray can, in the injectors, and tapped them upside down to clear them out.

 

She ran pretty darn good for a couple thousand miles. Now the same problems seem to be back. I have not taken a fuel sample yet, but she seems to be acting the same way she was before.

 

The miss is strong under load, low idle. Example at a stop light. Put truck in neutral, and miss improves. Also seems to get bad when the converter locks up around 1300 rpms.

 

How else can my fuel be taking mositure? If I always got gas from the same sation, I could blame them, but I get gas from diffrent sations, depending when I need gas.

 

Is there a TSB, that could shed some light? I'm stumpped, and ready to trade it in.

Thanks for the bump. BTW, I haven't check the fuel yet because it's -4 and a wind chill of around -30 this lovely day here in the Chicago land area...........
