Radio Lights Dim On One Side; Uneven

Just picked up my truck last Monday and immediately noticed that the backlights on the radio on the lower left are very bright, but up towards the right side of the radio they are barely visible. I suspect one of the bulbs is burned out. Common?

Yes its common and in my opinion the most difficult to fix. Take the radio apart, go to RadioShack or similar electronics store, and buy replacement bulbs, then solder them in.

Its under warranty if you just got it, take it back in and say you want a new radio.

Yep, that's the plan. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't normal before I brought it in. Based on past experience there is a 50% chance of things coming out worse than when I brought it in. So I want to make sure that if I'm going to go to the dealer, it's for a bona-fide problem. Otherwise I could drive away with a broken vent, non-functioning radio controls, and scratched paint for nothing!

I brought my truck in to have the speed sensors replaced due to a recall.

 

I pick the truck up and my abs light is on, long story short they did something to my abs.. so now it doesn't work, but according to them I brought it in broken

 

I gave up on fighting with the dealership, & GM Canada
