Turn Signal Mirrors

Whats going on fellow CHEVY enthusiasts? After researching topics on the possibility of an upgrade to mirrors with the integrated turn signal, I have come to the conclusion that it can be done and with relative ease(at least it seems that way! ) I have a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab Z71. This truck came with the power heated mirror option, but lacked the integrated turn signals. I purchased some mirrors that are power heated and have the turn signal which came off a 2004 Silverado 2500 Series. It seems like they just plug in. But, according to my local Chevy dealership parts guy, it can't be done. AT ALL. A lot of you fellow members have said that you were told the same by dealerships, that something like this upgrade or an upgrade to a steering wheel with audio controls and DIC could not be done as well. Siding with the members I bought the mirrors and am going to put them on within the next couple of days, hopefully before Christmas. I'll let you guys know if it does work or if the stupid parts guy was right.

Google Muth Mirrors, they are a company that specializes in turn signal mirrors. They also have the directions on how to install them. Might be able to find the information you need there.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!!!!!

I was able to install the mirrors no problem. My truck had the correct switch and all I had to do was plug it in. On my switch there were three plug-ins, one was labeled black, the other blue and the last one green. My original passenger mirror(power/heated) had only one plug, blue. The driver side mirror and had two plugs, black and blue. The new mirrors I bought(power/heated/turn signal) both had two plugs, black and blue. I plugged them up to their corresponding colors and VOILA! THEY WORKED. I'm thinking the other plug-in(green) is for the power folding mirrors, just a guess though. So the mirrors do just plug in. But like the parts guy said, you have to have the right switch. Maybe they all come prewired. I don't see why they would put switches that have this capability in some trucks and not others, seems like that would be a waste of money for GM and not very efficient. I guess if any other people want to do the upgrade, the first thing to do would be to check if you have the correct switch. And go from there. If you can't do it, the next best thing would be to get the MUTH mirrors, which come with the turn signal and heated if you want. You just have to splice into the line to draw power.
