What Do You Think This Truck Is Worth?

I am looking at a 2001 chevy silverado ext cab Z71 with a 5.3 V-8. It is two tone, has the ls package, fog lights. Here is the vin if anybody can run a carfax for me, I would also like to know what it all has on it. The vin is 2GCEK19TX11259958. Thanks for you help.

If you are hunting a truck a carfax account is only like 30 bucks for a whole month. That seems like a pretty cheap deal to me.

Carfax has been known to lurk on various car forums to see who is doing freebie lookups for others. That is apparently against the Carfax rules and some people have lost their subscriptions.

 

IMHO, Carfax is only as good as the data that is made available to it. There's always a chance that something didn't get updated, somebody at Carfax entered something wrong, or bad info got sent to Carfax in the first place. Or something just never made it into the database.

 

As far as value, you can check local papers for similar trucks, or go to the Kelly Blue Book or NADA websites and get values there.

 

You can take the VIN to a dealer and see if they will run a Vehicle Service History report and that will give you all of the service history done at a deler, all the options installed on the truck, when it was built (it's a Canadian built truck) and the selling dealer. There are people here that work at dealerships and they may be able to do that for you.

If you are anywhere near 100k miles, which is typical for this year, $7000 all day long.........

Really, you think $7,000 is a reasonable price to offer them? They are asking $8,400 and its from little dealership around the kansas city area, which makes me kind of even wary to even be interested in it. What does 2 campaigns done, mean? Two recalls? And it has 101,000 miles

That just means that any required GM repairs or recalls were addressed. Many cars have some sort of after the fact repairs.
