97 K1500 4l60e Making Noise

long time member, 1st time poster I have a 97 K1500 and i have about 30k after a rebuild on the trans. three weeks ago i changed the fluid and filter. Last night my transmission started making noise. It sounds like as if a bearing is going out, a loud grinding type noise. It only makes this noise though in reverse and 1st gear. once it shifts smoothly in 2nd it goes away immidiately. Also if i put the trans in 2nd gear and take off there is no noise at all. any ideas? or is a rebuild in the near future? thanks

Take my opinion with a grain of salt cause I don't know much about trannys but I think many of them use the same band for first and reverse. Maybe it only needs an adjustment but I wouldn't drive it until I figured it out in case you're wearing out the band.

im calling the shop where i got her rebuilt monday to see what the guy thinks, i only put 30k since the rebuild. hopefully he would know what the noise would be. it sounds like when a japanese car is backing up with that whine but louder and deeper tone.
