97 Sierra Shifting Erratically/speedo Off

Hello guys, I am having shifting problems with my 4l80e. The converter is locking up then dropping out. I checked/changed fluid and filter ,both looked good. I changed both vss and I dont have any transmission codes up. I am thinking PCM? I am running out ideas.

Anybody ever see this problem. the truck has 132k on it and this problem just started to manifest itself. Any help would greatly appreciated Thank You, Cort

  Ok well I guess Lake disagrees with me on a few points. I call oil consumption pretty basic. Rudimentary. He calls it "really complicated." I think 1qt consumed in 3k miles is a lot. He says that's normal. In 22 minutes, he'll use his natural talent to explain oil consumption to anyone watching this video. He covers everything from obvious engine damage to how normally functioning healthy engines consume oil by design. Lake explicitly states how you drive will impact oil consumption. Shut up and watch:

  Check for broken bolts holding the exhaust manifolds to the heads, common problem. Dorman makes a repair piece if you find you have broken 1s and don't want to do the surgery to replace them

  My dealer says it's the 6.6 from the HD modified for the 1500's. So, my money's on the 6.7.
