can factory wiring handle higher wattage light bulbs? i have a 98 sonoma(9006 + 9005 bulbs), and i found 80 watt low beams and 100 watt high beam xenon gas bulbs for a great price, but just would like to know if the stock wiring can handle more current draw?

No personal experience with the Sonoma lights (so my opinion is worthless) but I'd say don't do it.  Even if the electrical system can handle this the bulbs would probably melt the housing.

I just added a lighting kit from KennedyDiesel. It comes with a heavy duty wire harness as well as the relays. I also got (2) 70w low beam bulbs and (2) 100w high beam bulbs. All 4 lights are on went the high beams are activated. This throws out some serious lighting!

I'm wondering the exact same thing.  I have an 01 Silverado with standard wiring for 9005/06 bulbs.  I added 80/100 watt 9005/06 bulbs and they look really good, nice blue tint.  I've heard not to do this but I've had mine on for about a month with no problems that I know of.  I'm going to call the place I bought them from and ask them.  I'll post again when I do, probably tommorow.

Has anyone tried the Painless headlight kit? It comes with

wire, relay, circuit breaker and instructions for about $21 from Summit Racing.

Yep, got the painless system.... quick and easy install, but it will run you $39.99 for the new body style when you call.  Easy install, lots of light and no dimming!!!  Takes about 15 minutes.  I know it was 15 beacuse it was A** cold out and I was racing to get back inside!!! ;)
