What Harness Do I Need For My 2007 Gmc Sierra For A Tekonsha Prodigy B

I realize there is no straight and easy plug in harness anymore from reading other posts on the forum. My question is does the Tekonsha Prodigy come with a harness that you can use with the GM wires under the dash that you have to solder together. Or do you have to buy one of the harness such as the 3015 for the latest GM Model strip the end off and use that to solder with the GM one. Thanks for the help.

I don't have a Tekonsha, but I just connected my controller to the harness under the dash. You'll also have to connect two existing wires to the power posts in the fuse center under the hood and install a square 30A fuse.

I had a 2005 Sierra with the plug and play for the Prodigy, and when I went to the 2008 Sierra, I just cut the end off the harness and soldered the harness to the wire cluster under the dash. Worked like a charm, but had a PITA factor of 10. Cutting a perfectly good harness  . WTF?

okay great sounds like i just need to buy the controller and it comes with the lose wires then. I found a good picture guide on another post so that should help with the install. And yes i agree it seems dumb that GM didn't provide an easy plug and play harness for brake controllers. I guess 07 is just a bad year for brake controllers since i believe in 08 they came out with an integrated one.

The Prodigy is suppose to come with a wiring connetor that has 4 loose wires that you you can solder to the GM factory wires.

The Tekonsha Prodigy does come with a harness that has stripped ends. They include connection information for Chev, Ford, Dodge, Toyota and Nissan wiring.

Check your owner's manual for the connections you need to make at the underhood fuse center. There is a wire tied up under the master cylinder that has to be attached to the Stud #2 post at the forward end of the fuse center. A 40 amp J-Case fuse needs to go into position 68 for the 12v power lead at the 7-pin connector.
