High Idle

Hey guys, my GMT 900 5.3 idles really high when I pull into my garage. When I pull in the tach jumps from 500 to about 800 to 1000 rpm. If I don't have my foot firmly on the brake it would seem my truck would make a drive through out of my garage. Is this normal or do I need to have this serviced?

Thanks!

Seems unusual to me. Mine doesn't have jumps like that. Someone put a voodoo curse on your garage? Does it do the same thing when you come up to stop lights or such? Is there a pattern as to when the RPMs will spike?

Voodoo indeed! I thought it was my A/C compressor going out of cycle when that happened but it also does it with it off. I will have it check out then.

I have experienced the exact same thing your describing. It is so intermittent that I just live with it.

The problem with my rig is it happens each time I pull into the garage, I am to belive it's irregular. What's wierd it dosen't happen any where else.

Justin @ Blackbear took care of my revs at idle. Mine would do that but it would do that when I started the truck. It would rev close to 2500 RPMS and then fluctuate. Since he reprogrammed it, now it revs only to 1300 RPMS or so and then idles at 700 RMPS
