Bumper Removal On An 05 Sierra

I slid into a guard rail with my truck on the passenger side bumper. It kinda pushed it in and under a bit. From looking underneth it apeers to have just bent the brackets back and kinda twisted the bumper up abit. Im thinking if I just replace the brackets the bumper will come back with out much trouble. Im worried about the airbags going off while im messing with it. Do I really have to disconnect them or can I simple disconnect the battery while I doing the work. Also how heavy is the bumper? Ive never done any repairs like this but it looks pretty straight forward so I thought I would at least give it a shot. Then if I cant get it Ill take it to a shop. I appreciate all input. Its an 05 sierra 4x4 reg cab.
