Replacing Those Little Bulbs In Bose Stereo?

Hey guys whats up

 

I have an 03 Z71 Sierra with the factory bose stereo and i have a few buttons on the stereo that dont light up anymore. What are my options? is it a pain to replace? where can you get the bulbs?

Join the club. I have a 99 that nearly all the lights in the radio have quit working on in the last yr. The fix involves removing the radio and removing the faceplate of the radio. The thread I saw on either this bbs or another showed them de-soldering the bulbs and re-soldering bulbs in place. Bulbs were somewhere in the less than $20 range, if I recall. I just gave up. I don't let it bother me anymore.

I noticed my bottom row of buttons do not light up.. the seek or scan and a couple others in the row. Are these even supposed to light up?

this link LED Radio in the sense will give you the idea of how to go about and swap out the bulbs in the radio. Start with post #100, i know its for a vette but you'll get and idea. i think the radios from 1995 to 2002 are the same. I myself have swapped every bulb in my z06 to blue leds. ( looks amazing at night) if you can solder and have some patience you can do this... there is also some great pics of the conversions the guys have done on that post.
