Help. Hit And Run. Front Bumper Damaged, Repair Or Replace Or Aftermar

Left my truck parked on the street for not even two hours and someone hit it and took off. The grey painted plastic is all gouged up and won't buff out it is pretty deep, and the steel bumper is pushed in and down. I pulled on it and its really tough, I can't pull it back out without some serious man power. The dealer said they don't normally pull them back out as the chrome cracks?

 

The dealership will give me a new silver bumper at his cost to replace it, but I notice these things stone chip and rust and there is a ton of stones around here so I think I dont wanna spend 1000$ on a replacement that will rust anyways.

 

Anyone have any ideas on aftermarket ones or what I can do to fix mine? How can I get some of the scratches out of the grey paint, or am I screwed either way?

 

 

I'm interested in a aftermarket bumper, if they don't rust. Maybe something in a stainless colour?

 

Any ideas and links to bumpers would be appriciated.

 

I'm in Canada so mail order from the USA might not be a cheap option. Plus my 1000$ insurance deductable means I'll fix it out of pocket.

There are some aftermarket companies out there making replacement bumpers for the NNBS () but it is slim picking. Do a web search and you should find a couple.

I think i would try and pull it back out tho. use a comealong or hook it up to another vehicle, strap it and gently throttle.

 

If the chrome cracks, then you replace it like you were going to anyways.... If it dosent and looks good, you just saved $$ goodluck
