I wonder if they will keep both the chevy and GMC models.I hope they don't just keep the GMC. I would hate to have to drive that ugly ass truck. Now I am going to hide BBL.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I think bankruptcy and a re-org is their best option, at this point. I wish them well and I hope they make it through, when it comes to that.. (As someone else said, I don't think it's "if" anymore... I think it's "when.")

As for the "ugly ass truck" comment... I had never owned a GM vehicle in my life. If only the Silverado had been available, I probably wouldn't be an owner now (at least not of a GM pickup). I absolutely HATE the huge-ass, wider-than-it-needs-to-be "smile" (grill) of the Silverados... If that had been the only choice that GM offered, I can safely say that I would've never bought one...

I hope they keep both truck brands.

Much like almost ALL of the other bailout companies... this is the best answer. Too bad they got billions of our tax dollars to piss away before they saw the damn light huh?

Thanks Washington!

anyone willing to admit that Ford is the only fiscally responsible US automaker? they don't have to come up with a viability plan for congress because they never took our money in the first place...but they probabaly have had a viability plan for a long time...which would explain why they aren't in big trouble like GM and Chyrsler.

Ford has done well. Management is apparently paying attention over there. Much of their car lineup has been improved/changed in the last few years. My hat is off to them. I hope GM gets the hint... finally.

I'm with you Zembonez, hopefully they will finally decide to stop throwing money into dumb concepts and focus on the products that made them who they are, or were. Mismanagement and arrogance got them in a bind.

Just like the rest of you... I am NOT HAPPY that GM is having problems. I wish management had done a better job of keeping in touch with the market instead of seeing how fast they could spend the money. That sort of management will push any size business over the cliff. I really hope they get it fixed through reorganization.

I'm willing to bet that they do!

Any chance that putting this out now, ahead of the Feb 17th deadline, is just a posturing move to get leverage over the UAW to get them to agree to more concessions? Just a thought?

I was thinking the same thing. It will be interesting to see if it is just a strategy.

FWIW, I like it
