Nav Update

I'm looking at a really nice 2004 Yukon Denali with the factory NAV system. The owner says that it has the original CD and has not been updated. Not knowing anything about this feature, I'm wanting to know more about updating, a new CD I assume. Is this a dealer only item, are they Make/Model/Year specific, and are the EBay ones OK to use as long as it's correct for the vehicle?

Also, do they require the CD to be inserted so the data can be retrieved and displayed? I assume they are not a live GPS type system, but maybe I' wrong.

All information will be appreciated since I've never used one of these.

It can be updated with a CD from e-bay...if it is the right version for the truck.

You can check for the correct version here.

You can also buy one from them...but they are cheaper on e-bay. :P

The disk does have to be inserted to access the map data...and it is a LIVE GPS system.

The GPS keeps track of where "YOU" are and displays your position on the map.
