Jr's win

I think it's crazy that people are thinking Jr's win may have been fixed!  That is just plain stupidity.  I've heard that people think NASCAR "fixed" it so he would win and that the drivers didn't really try to beat him.

1.) I think NASCAR knows it would lose any and all credibility it has with many fans if they did that and people found out.  I highly doubt that would even be a consideration, for anyone.

2.) How would you get 42 other drivers (5 going for an extra million) to agree to let him win?

I can maybe see Waltrip not pressing the issue of trying to pass him but you never really know.  Jr had an awesome car, every one seen that.  Jimmy Spencer even had the nerve to say that something seemed fishy with with NASCAR and Jr. winning.  I guess he thinks NASCAR let him win too.

What's your thoughts?

Dale Jr had only one friend on that track, and that was Mikey Waltrip. Jr helped him to a Daytona 500 win and he owed Jr and Sr.

I can not believe that any other driver would "let" him go. A win is just too important these days. I also don't believe that anyone could catch that #8 car anyway.

I think if NASCAR told everyone to back off of Jr and let him win, then most  of those drivers would have walked away from NASCAR.

If anybody thinks  that that win was "given" to Jr, then they aren't Fans of NASCAR. (IMO)

I heard the same news reports on that this morning....from what I've seen and heard just the egos involved in the racing world would prevent anything like that.  I could buy that somebody eased up out of some sort of sense of respect, like Waltrip but everbody on the track?....no way.  The only thing I would say is that for the NASCAR novice, such as myself, it would be easy to watch the end of the race and think that 5 other cars just let him blow by....he did make it look that easy....

I think everyone has watched too much X-Files and is trying to find a conspiracy in EVERYTHING.  The kid had a rocket for a car, and he's a good driver who could handle the situation.  Jimmy Spencer is one of us good-old Pennsylvania boys and just likes to stir s**t up for kicks and giggles.  Like you guys said, there's no way you could get all the drivers to ante up to that plan, especially with the extra million on the line.

If you blow up the still pictures up real big you can sort of see a second carburator on the grassy knoll..!!!......

conspiracy, right..!

These rumors are just people trying to start s**t.  There is no way all the drivers would agrre to that, AND even if they did you know it would get back to Jr. and he wouldn't stand for it.  There is no way he would want that charity, and there is no way all the other drivers would dishonor his dad that way.

Everyone just need to face it, Jr's car was AWESOME and so was he.  And yeah maybe mike didn't try to pass him, but I don't think he couldve if he wanted to.  The only person who helped Jr. win that race other than his crew member's was his dad.  He taught him to drive the heck out of a race car, and maybe jsut maybe he was giving him a little push on Saturday.

As for the people who think it was fixed, they must not know much about NASCAR.  Because if they did they would know that that isn't even a possibility.

There's a letter at ESPN.com, questioning whether Don King and Vince McMahon are now running NASCAR, due to what they feel was a fixed finish!  OUCH!!  I've been watching races for a long time and I just don't see any driver letting off the gas for a soap opera finish.  My opinion, Jr. is just that good and ol' #3 was surely smiling down on his prodigy this weekend!

What really pisses me off about this issue, is that Dale Jr. drove his heart out to win that race and now has to face these accusations.  What a bunch of BS.

And to top it off, most of this was started by Jimmy Spenser and egged on by ESPN none the less.  Just take a look at this article.....

The ending of that race was way too perfect to be fixed.  How do you get a bunch of guys to wreck and bring out a caution?  How do you tell 6 guys to go slower to let Jr. pass?  I could go on and on.  There is just no way this could all be set up and not a bit of info. about this alleged conspiracy is being leaked out.

Get with it people, maybe you can fix a baseball game, but NASCAR?  I don't think so.

Yeah that first statement hits it right in the head, just like in WWF, integrity is everything.
