4.3 To 454 Swap Bugs, Need Help

I have a 93 swb that was a 4.3 V6 and I have converted it to a 454TBI 5-spd, I put 3/4 springs in front and a 342 posi rear to make it all right, used V6 harness with 454 computer. the engine Idles high and when in gear decelerating she will stumble every other second and it feels like she is loosing power after bout 3500rpm.

I know lots of issues but as much as I have put into her it doesnt seem like much to me :seeya: I am thinking that one issue is that the 454 computer was in a auto trans truck ( maybe high idle prob?? ) and once it gave me a ECT code but hasnt since.... and last issue .. what is the timing set for a 454 TBI ... I have heard 4* and 0* ???

If I cant get this thind right Im just gonna rip out the distributor and throttle body and throw on a carter 1100 and HEI and call it a day but would like to keep fuel inj if I can

Any comments or Idea's would be most welcome ... thx

Get a memcal burned for a 454 manual by a programmer and you should be OK.

any idea how I go about doing that

Meaning who, where, and how to contact

I take it that memcal it the chip in the ECU?

Do a search and someone here may know, the Memcal is in the PCM. Who ever makes you a new will provide the Memcal. The wireing is different between a v6-v8 and a big block so if you havent changed the pin outs do that first so when you get a new program it works correctly.

the Wiring harness matched right up aside from having to extend the TPS wires bout 1 inch, I have found one of my injectors was pouring instead of misting at idle, so thats step #1 :uhoh: now I just need to get a custom burned chip and find out what the timing set is
