Jury Summons

Any of you get these things? I know it's our ''Civic Duty'' but what a PITA.I was excused last year 'cause I told the judge I was against same sex relationships...the woman on trial had run over and killed one of three women in a love triangle.I found out later she was convivted and will spend the rest of her life behind bars(she was 18 then).What a waste.

I got one last week too. It's my first time to get one, and I'm trying to get excused from it because I've got a major design review at work that day. I wouldn't mind it, but it's at the worst time for me work-wise.

Well at least she should be able to pursue same sex relations now without hindrance. I was threaten by my local court because I excused myself a few times due to my deployment. I told them to come serve me papers. I haven't seen them yet.

I got summoned when I was 18. I got out of it because I was moving to a different town a week before it was supposed to start. It seems interesting though. Worse, my Dad got summoned right after I did, but for Federal Court...4 hours away in Albuquerque. Luckily they decided they didn't need him a week before the trial was supposed to start.

Touch wood, I haven't gotten one of these yet. One never knows till later if the trial involved is going to be a short or long one.

If you do get selected there Gary, good luck that it'll just be a short one day thing.

They are easy to get out of, just tell them that whoever has been charged is guilty and should hang.

I had to do that about a year ago, it was fun cause I was able to hook up with one of the female jurors. Man I love jury duty.

I got one last year I think. The case that it involved was a DUI and got settled probably 10 minutes before the trial was supposed to start. Didn't bother me, I got paid a full days work and got paid for driving up to the courthouse.

Not if the 12 say you should be carried by 6.

It's better to just plead insanity.

Thanks Darin,I suppose it wouldn't be so bad if had nothing else to do,awfull boring to me.Y'now I'm so busy being retired...working on my 'Burb,dirtbikes,camping...friends' bikes... a list a mile long..oh,and don't forget lurking here

BTW,the trial I mentioned earlier lasted a month..my son works with one of the jurors who was selected...

They are easy to get out of, just tell them that whoever has been charged is guilty and should hang.

You can tell them you're a racist to. My wife got one last year. She got out of it though. She was going to FLA. and told them that if they wanted her there they had to refund her plane ticket. I guess the courts raised a big stink about it, but she went to FLA.

Just act like a raciest. Worked for me. I just cracked all my black and jew jokes to others in the room where I knew the lawyers could here it. Sad thing is I'm not that racest, just have racest friends that like jokes.
