Ive gotta get new tires. Ive decided to go with the Cooper Zeon LTZ. What I cant decide is whether to go with 275 60 20s or 305 55 20s. I am worried the 275 60s wont be wide enough, but i figure I can put in wheel spacers. I am having a hard time with the 305 55s beacause they are almost $400 dollars more. What do yall think? Cooper also makes a 305 50 20 but i am afraid they arent tall enough to fill the wells.

HaHa, sorry, my Texas words might be hard for some of you Yankees to understand! :D

Here is a picture. The Zeons will look even wider, my Bridgestone Alenza highway tires "roll in" at the tread, and the Zeons don't. They will be my next tire, in the same size.

¹Yall : Pronunciation \?y?ll\  noun

1: The imaginary being who dwells in Jeff's brain that taught him to correct people every chance he gets; to be unhelpful; to be an ass.

275 or 305 is the width... the 60 or 55 that you're talking about is the ratio of the width to describe the height (sidewall). 275/55 20's are a stock size and shouldn't require speedometer recalibration... 275/60's may...

If you go with the 275/60's, you'll be registering 60 mph, but actually going 62. It's not a big deal, but it might get you a ticket, if you "think" you're only going 5 over, but you're really going 6 or 7 over.. (just a thought)

If you're planning to go with a 305, I'd suggest a 305/50, not a 305/55... The 305/55 will throw your speedometer off, too. You'll be registering 60, but you'll really be going 62.4 mph... There again, if you're pushing the speed "thinking" you're going one speed, you'll really be going faster, according to the cop's radar.. and he MIGHT give you a ticket...

Good points, I didnt even take into account the affect on the speedometer calibration. I am apprehensive about the 305 50 20s because they might not be tall enough to fill the well, which is how i fill about the stock tires.

305/50's will be almost the exact same height as the 275/55's.

Give this a try, to check out different tires sizes :
