New Console Part, Not Available Yet?

While searching the web for some interior trim parts, I stumbled upon some great info. There is a brushed aluminum console latch cover on some of the 2008-2009 Hummer H2 SUT's. This truck appears to have the same console lid as the LTZ/ SLT pickups/ SUV's. There is a very recent thread in an Avalanche forum that said the part # was 19208238 and it will be available in 6 months or so. I checked with my local GM dealer's parts department but this number was not in the system.

I NEED THIS PIECE IN MY TRUCK!!! Hopefully somone can find out if this is a good part number.

I have confirmation that this is the correct part number for the brushed metal console trim piece, here is what the guy from gmpartsdirect.com e-mailed me on 3/18/09 regarding call-out #10 illustrated below:

 

"Part number 19208238 is not currently an active GM part number. It is the correct part number for the item in question. We have no availability information for it at this time."

From looking at that pic, it appears call-out #9 is the entire console lid assembly; it's possible we may only be able to get it in that form. Wonder if GMPD has a P/N or price/availability of that entire unit?

Good idea. First, I might go to the Hummer dealer to get a VIN# so he can get the right trim fininsh. #9 looks like it might be expensive though.

GMPD catalog lists #10 "latch cover" for $24.34 and #9 "armrest" for $128.43. Worth the extra $100 for instant gratification? Hell yea! Off to the Hummer dealer for a VIN tomorrow and will e-mail GMPD again. Will advise with any news.

Got the Hummer H2 VIN and found the part number for the console lid assembly, 25906682. This includes the brushed metal trim 19208238.

Think of it this way: buy the H2 cover for $128, sell your original one from the truck on eBay for $50-75, and you're only looking at $50-80 total for the trim piece. That makes it not such a bad deal.

Got the H2 console lid today with the brushed metal trim. It looks awesome! The covering also appears to be real leather and the stitching goes across the top instead of around the sides. Definitely worth every penny. The pics are kinda dark cause I'm using my crappy cell phone.
