Few Qustions For Parts I Need To Get.

how easy is it to remove a rear window on a 88 c1500 to a 97 c 1500 ? i want to put a rear slider in my truck i was told its as easy as cutting the expoxy that holds it in .

 

next qustion

 

i was under dash trying to figure out why i have no dash vent but i have deforst and floor vents . i found out the linkage under dash were cable attaches seems likes its stuck its the cable type , to replace all this to get dash vents to work what parts do i need to get from junk yard?

Hi Ross,just now saw your thread....my Haynes manual doesn't have any instructions for removing the rear glass.Here's the paragraph:

 

''Replacement of the windshield and fixed glass requires the use of special fast-setting adhesive/caulk materials and some specialized tools and techniques.These operations should be left to a dealer service department or a shop specializing in glass work.''

 

With this in mind remember the epoxy they use is quite strong and I believe the pros use a cutting wire with a handle on each end,pulling back and forth to ''saw'' the epoxy loose.
