Tranny Swap

Has anyone switch there truck from a 700r4 to a 4-speed manual tranny?

 

I have an 86 K1500 that has a 700r4 and a 203 transfer case. I bought the 4 speed with a 208 to make it a little more heavy duty. Does anyone have a clutch pedal? Do I need to find a driveshaft or have one altered? Do I need to change the flywheel? Any help is appreciated.

I have gone from cluth to auto, much more simpler and less expensive...

 

You will need to add a flywheel and clutch assembly, if that did not come with your set-up. You will also need to add the clutch pedal assembly as well as all the associated linkage. Your best bet to do this swap is to find a complete 4-speed donor vehicle so that you can harvest the correct parts. You may also be confronted with computer control issues that need to be addressed. These can be resolved again with a donor truck.
