Radio Shuts Off

Since i put my DIC in, when i turn the truck off the radio shuts off before i open the door. it sould stay on till i open the door. Any suggestions on whats causing it? I have looked thru the DIC and cant find a function to keep it on......help!

Have you tried disconnecting it to see if it changes back?

 

That sounds very odd. You're the first person to claim any sort of problem from adding the DIC.

alright, i will try it tomorrow and let you know. One of the service guys said it might be the ignition switch. I didnt tell them about me adding the DIC.....dealer respose would be " oh well then thats the problem"

When I put mine in I remember seeing that option when I was playing around with it. If I remember right it's in the menu of the 4th (bottom) button, the one with the "check" mark

No, unhooking it didnt work.....any more suggestions??? I had a service guy at the GMC dealer (who can only do warranty work on GMC's) look at it and we went thru the whole menu to see and couldnt find anything. I guess im going to just have to take it to the chevy dealer in town.....not the one i bought it from, its 1050 miles away.

Put the old panel back in place and take it to the Chevy dealer. Tell them the problem, see what they say. I still contend the DIC had nothing to do with this situation at all so I'd not even mention it.

I'm with daddy on this one...I can't imagine the DIC could cause this, so remove it...you don't want to give the dealer any excuse to blame the problem on you and not cover the repair.

Good call on the old panel in. Yeh i unhooked it and nothing changed. One vehicle at a time i guess. My G8 has a tire out of round and wont balance so they are replacing that first. Wonder how long it will take them to go thru the truck....i know how electrical stuff goes

I would leave the DIC in, I doubt they'll even notice that your truck didn't come with it.

DIC is a dealer installed accessory item from GM........leave it in

I just got the dic yesterday and its installed and i have had no problem yet. Well thats not true, my bank account cant belive how much gas a new motor drinks lol
