Magnetic Antenna Location

Finally doing the last part of my audio installation. Excelon head unit and switching to Sirius.

I have two options for antenna location

 

1: out the rear of the cab through the third light and onto the roof

2: out through the firewall and up the side molding of the windshield and across the top of the windshield (under the small weather strip) and come out in the middle of the windshield to attach to roof

 

Any advantages / disadvantages to one or the other.

I would assume both would be fine. Not positive on any advantages or disadvantages except for maybe wire length. My preference would be the set up below as it is less noticeable in my opinion. Let us know what you decide and how it works out.

I put mine out the third brake light. Worked like a charm and only took maybe 5 minutes to install it there.
