I really thought I had read that the Equinox/Envoy was dead.. I guess with the name-change the Envoy "is" dead...

I think you're mistaking the Equinox for the Trailblazer.. I believe the Envoy and Trailblazers are going away, but the Equinox is being redesigned for 2010, as well..

GM to shut Ohio SUV plant 2 years ahead of plan

David Barkholz

October 6, 2008 - 12:01 am ET

DETROIT — General Motors is ending production of its slow-selling mid-sized SUVs on Dec. 23, two years earlier than announced in June. GM is pulling ahead the closure of its Moraine, Ohio, assembly plant because of market conditions, said GM spokesman Chris Lee. Moraine builds the Chevrolet TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer SS, GMC Envoy and Envoy Denali and Saab 9-7X.

..and another article..

Some SUVs reach end of line

Debi Domby

December 22, 2008 - 12:01 am ET

-- When General Motors' Moraine, Ohio, plant closes this week, GM no longer will make the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy and Saab 9-7X. The plant opened in 1951.

-- GM also ends production at Line 1 of its Janesville, Wis., plant this week. Janesville, the oldest car plant in North America, opened in 1919. Line 1 built the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL. The SUVs will be produced in Arlington, Texas. Janesville medium-duty truck line will remain open until May.

Now, maybe they're moving some of that production elsewhere, but that's where I got the idea that the Envoy was going away... And no mention was made of moving the Envoy anywhere else.. So, it would seem like it is dead.

HOLY CRAP.

That is one ugly POS. Is this the latest attempt at sabotage coming from GM management?

Waggoner's last stand!
