New Grille Installed

I wanted to take a little 'bling' off of the front of my truck. I ordered the Grillcraft MX series grille in black. The instructions were to cut the bottom two of the factory grille slats out. I didn't want to do that for two reasons: In case I didn't like it and also because the chrome insert that I just removed was a B***H, so I installed it over the factory grille, much like an insert grille. You can see the GMC badge shape and slats behind the mesh, but I came up with an idea..Right now it looks OK for the time being, but my plan is to add the thin, chrome GMC badge behind -yes behind- the mesh. The chrome badge should be thin enough to fit behind the mesh. It will also have a great shine to it from the backside of the mesh grille, which I though was a cool/unique idea! I like both grilles, I just felt like the chrome insert that I removed was a bit too much (considering the bumpers, mirrors, handles, wheels and nerf bar). Here are some pictures, thoughts? Thanks!

I think the black mesh kind of confuses the "look" you're going for... I mean, you have this nice, big, pretty new truck... custom paint job... chrome all over the place... bumpers, grille, mirror covers(!?!?), door handles, nerf bars... and then you replace the grille to look like you're maybe wanting to do a semi-"blacked-out" look..??

Personally - and this is just MY opinion, so do what you want with it - I like the chrome mesh better.

If you want to tone-down the "bling," I'd suggest the mirror covers.

I think the grille would fit in better if you lost the chrome mirror caps...

Yep, then I think it would look good

Have somebody photoshop the chrome caps off and check it out.

My thoughts exactly. Whatever you do with the grille, I'd definitely lose the chrome mirror caps. Way too much, IMO.

Good point on the mirror covers. If they're easy pop on/off covers I'll just take them off and see how I like it.

Yeah Chris they're definitely clean-looking grilles. You cut the bottom two factory slats out? That probably gives it an even cleaner look I just didn't want to do it just in case I wanted to use the GMC logo or if I didn't end up liking it.

How 'bout putting in an "All-Terrain" grille.

Not really a semi-blacked-out look. I was thinking of it like this, at first glance most people didn't notice the two-tone paint job because the sides are mainly gray and all the chrome, esp the grille, was blinding. I wanted to bring out the black in the paint with the grille in a way that I could mentally weigh the color scheme out (chrome, black, gray) and have everything primarily equal. Does that make sense? lol

Definitely like the chrome grille better. I also don't mind the chrome mirrors, but I would just go with the GM Accessory chrome upper mirror covers instead of the entire mirror cover.

That might be a better idea!

On your truck I think the chrome fits the rest of the "style" you have. I had full mirror covers too... and lost them!
