Silv 2500hd 4x4 Steering Rattle Still There After Borgeson I-shaft Upg

My 06 Silverado 2500HD Crew 4x4 6.0 has 25K miles, since I bought it in January with 19K on it, it has had the dreaded steering rattle. My dealer has replaced the I-shaft twice, the steering box, lower bearing, that I know of and it still does it. The only part that I can see they havent changed is the small yoke and u-joint between the steering box and the steering shaft/coupler (I think this is what GM calls this shaft between the box and the I-shaft), there doesnt appear to be any slack in this joint/yoke when the wheel is moved left and right.

Dealer doesnt know what else to do and has talked with 'GM Tech Assist' and has been told the truck cant be fixed at this time, the I-shaft fix doesnt work on crew cabs??? They are supposedly working on a 'fix'.

I have spent hours researching this on the web and the only possible solution I came up with was the aftermarket BORGESON I-shaft, even though I had to pay for it ($236) it would be worth it to get this fixed even though the truck is still under warranty. Anyway, I got the Borgeson part today, the new shaft looks very well made and more 'substantial' than the GM part. I put it on and guess what....IT STILL DOES IT!!! The feel is different now, I think I can now feel more of every bump / joint in the road but definitely not fixed.

I am going nuts with this problem...I have got to get this thing fixed! Any thoughts?

THanks,

Jeff

I had the same problem on my 05 crew cab. I replaced the I shaft with new designs w\o any success. However, I just had front end aligned and all of the noises have gone away. Dealer charged $49.99 for the alignment. Good luck!
