Just A Thought

What happens if let's say Chrysler goes into bankruptcy restructures but still fails?

Where does any person who owns a manufacturers vehicle expect to get software to enable or disable features on a vehicle and to properly diagnose those vehicles considering they have interfaces which require web access to properly load a vehicle now?

Just curious as I have thought about this since other brands may be pulling our of the NA market and just curious as to what their owners will do.

I would say it would be fair as a condition of bankruptcy that they provide and avenue for current owners

If they bite it completely, there won't be any safety net for people who own current models.

BUT

You can rest assured that the aftermarket would step in and fill any void left by dealership service departments. The real problem come in getting replacement parts once the existing supply runs out. When Daewoo pulled out of the US market (a GM venture by the way) insurance companies were totaling cars with 5000 miles on them because they were involved in minor fender benders... because they had no source to buy replacement parts.
