Rubbing Noise Behind Dash

I've had the push buttons for the 2 wheel 4 wheel selection replaced and also the gauge package and intermediate steering shaft replaced. Now I'm starting to hear a rubbing noise like plastic rubbing against plastic while driving slow. I don't notice it at higher speeds. (I know don't drive slow and it will go away). It is getting real annoying. I have taken off the facia and pushed against all the remaining parts and the noise is still there. It seems to be behind the gear selection or gauges. Has anyone else had this problem?

With your truck off and in park get out and rock it back and forth using the drivers front tire.... If you hear it squeaking its the body mount. There's a tsb for it.

I posted a thread with the tsb# and instructions about a week or two ago.... Do a quick search using my screen name and it should come right up.

Thanks for the info. I tried what you advised and everything seems OK. You can actually hear the noise going slow and it is coming from the left side of the dash area. Like I said I pulled the front off the gauges and the noise is coming from behind them Almost like a wiring harness or something rubbing against plastic. It makes a light squeaking noise, like plastic rubbing against plastic. I just can't find anything that's loose.

mine sounded like plastic/plastic creaking noise behind the driver side dash area. It was really noticeable with the windows up and while braking or going slow over bumps.... like if the dash was loose in that area or something.

I used a stethoscope and had my wife rock the truck back and forth while i poked around to find the source of the squeak; it was coming from the body mount below the firewall on the driverside. Did some searching and found the TSB.

Inside the cab you would never guess that it was a body mount. My biggest fear was actually that it would end up being the airbag thats on the pillar.... cause i wouldnt want to screw around with that

Maybe have your wife sit in the cab with the windows up and rock the truck back and forth using the front tire like i suggested to see if she hears it.
