Upon further inspection of the engine it apperas to me the original engine has been replaced with a 327(I think).Right now there is an HEI distributer in it which I believe shouldn't be there.I think someone put the 327 in it because the original engine wore out.Something's fishey here...the only # on the head casting # is 7407926 or 1407926 (hard to tell which)..couldn't see the block #.The assembly date is:VI029FB.Did a search on the 'net and as far as I can see it was assembled in Flint 29th of Oct. and is a 327 & was mated to a P/G tranny, can anyone verify this....before I go buying tune-up parts I need to know what engine I have...this does not make sense to me HELP!

Update:After searching the web I found from different sources it's definitly a 327 built in Flint. The badge on the side of the truck says 8/350...someone has changed the engine... unless they changed the badge too....did they put a 350 in a '69?

Well guys we're all wrong,kinda....finally found the casting #s for the heads....333882,they were used in the early to mid '70s on 350s and 400s.The assembly date says it a 327(FB) at the end says this(for the block).I figure someone had this shortblock laying around and put these heads on it to make a running engine..the intake even has the boss for the oil filler tube...and no hole of course cuz the oil goes into the valve cover in later years...so I think we'll save some $ and pick up a decent running used 350 and drop in there...should be easy,no accessories,no A/C...just engine and tranny.the tranny can stay in the truck, just pull the engine.Done it b4
