Exhaust Size For 89 Sierra

Hey all,

 

Just wondering what the stock exhaust size for a 89 Sierra would be. I am not sure if its 2.25" or 2.5". My transam was 2.25" but I think that was do to ground clearance.

 

Reason I ask is I want a bit more grumble out of my 350TBI so I was thinking of doign the cheap cherrybomb glasspack to replace my currently very quiet muffler. Don't wanna sink too much into this truck as its literally a beater.

your exhaust can differ according to my catalogs, anything from 2.5" to 3" into the muffler and 2"-2.25" out.

Use a caliper and get as close as you can, then go to the auto parts store and buy one of each. Find which fits best and take the other back. 9 times out of 10, you will have grabbed the incorrect one and need to go back anyway (at least that's what happens to me).

When you measure, measure the inside of the pipe, not outside! lol

Our 88 Sierra is 2.25", but again it could be different.
