gmfourbygo Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 i have a 2008 gmc 1500. i've installed a 2 inch leveling kit and now im looking to put larger tires and different wheels. the stock rims are 17's but im thinking i can save some money on tires by getting 16 inch rims. i've heard you cant go down in rim size though? im also wondering if i will be able to fit a 285/75/16 with the 2 inch leveling kit?
masterfoxscout Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 2005 and up, you cannot run anything smaller than 17" rims due to a change in the OEM brake equipment.
Zembonez Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Confirmed, 17" minimum. 20's FTW!!! I agree. 16s will not fit.
