2009 Silverado Chrome Bumper Or Black Bumper

I just bought a Black 2009 Silverado LT Regular Cab Short Bed and the GM Website and several brochures show it with a body color front bumper center section, but the truck actually has a chrome bumper with black endcaps. Various pictures I see of trucks on this site are sometimes chrome and sometimes body color.

 

What 2009 models come with a body color bumper?

 

Are the factory body colored bumpers coated ? or just painted ?

 

Why would they sell a pre-painted body color grille as an accessory when it would look stupid with a chrome bumper ?

 

Can I buy a prepainted bumper from GM ? Or do I need to buy a primed one and have it painted?

The LTZ models come with a color matched bumper painted bumper but I think you can get a painted bumper if order a truck with the Z71 appearance package.

 

I bought a primed bumper from GM and had it painted. It will cost you about $500.00 to buy the bumper and have it painted to match your truck. Then you will need to spend 3 hours removing and reinstalling the new bumper.

Mine also was an LT with chrome bumper, I bought a black wt bumper and had it painted to match with the GM black grille.
