Hey im new here nice site.

I got a 94 s10 4x4 v-tec. This weekend me and my dad fixed an exhaust leak on the gaskets that go to the headers and the rear pinion seal that was leaking.

scenario-- we hade to use heat to get the bolts of of my headers ,the battery was disconnected when we did any welding, we hade to cut the oxygen senser but it was soldered and put back togeather good. and the hood was open and it started to sprinkle but not hard.

my problem is that when I went to drive it after we were done I tryed to start it and the gauge cluster went all weird on me and was jumping around and the fuse blew for the guages.

I tried to move it and the tranny acts like its slipping (mabye thinks its in a higher gear?)

I checked wires and tryed to put fuses back in and they blow.

now it dont stay on long elough to hold charge the alternater is good and the grounds.

look good to

we have not a clue sorry for the long post and mabye hard to read thanks for the help ray

Sounds like you melted/shorted some wires during the heating/welding process.

Start by checking wires all around where you were using heat.

thanks I looked at it today and if I leave my oxygen sensor unpluged the gauges and tranny act normal. When I plug it back in by the exhaust the fuse blows.

does this mean that the oxyjen sensor is bad or can the wires above it still need repaired somewere?

thanks for the help
