Egr Solenoid Vacume Line(s)?

Yet another question, this time regarding vacume lines. I came across some info on the forum regarding skipping and stumbling on the 5.7 v-8's and one thing to look at seems to be the egr valve. I glanced at mine and followed the vacume line to the egr solenoid.

I see that one line runs from the egr to the solenoid. There is a second post on the solenoid that looks to fit a vacume line, but there isn't one there. The engine compartment diagram shows a line from the solenoid that says "vent".

Does this mean a vacume line runs to a vent, such as an ac vent or henter vent, or is it simply to vent vacume pressure from the solenoid? If it is a line to a real vent of some kind, where does it hook up?

Thanks,

Does the solenoid only have the 1 hose connected to it? I would think your second port on the solenoid would go to a vacuum source

Service manual will show vacuum hose routing. There may be a decal under the hood

The haynes manual doesn't show anything. As I stated in my first post, the engine compartment decal/diagram shows a line from the solenoid going to "vent". Thats what I'm trying to figure out

A *GM* factory service manual set would show everything. These are 3 or 4 big "phone book size" books all on one model year and type of vehicle.
