Truck Died

My wife was coming home today driving our 97 GMC when it just died. It cranked fine but wouldn't start. I had it towed home and looked at it when I got home. The fuel pump had cratered once before and I made the mistake of replacing it with a Carter fuel pump (which made a lot of noise). When I tried the truck I noticed the fuel pump was quieter than normal. I put the fuel pressure gauge on and only got 16-19 psi. I am sure the pump bought it. I am I right?

It was the fuel pump. The dealer didn't believe me so they put in a filter first and found no change (part of troubleshooting). Of course then there was the nylon filter and tank shield (because of the age of the truck). I ask them to calibrate the fuel gauge but only paid (0.6 of an hour labour), do not see they corrected the problem from last fuel pump change (probably will take it back Monday). The wallet is $560 lighter, the pump is quieter, and the truck runs, what can I say.
