Power Window Fuse Blows

I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 four door pickup. The 50 amp maxi fuse under the hood keeps blowing. I have checked the wires going through all the doors and to the motors but have found nothing. It seems to be blowing when I go over a lot of bumps. My thought is something is grounding out. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and may now where else to look for the culprit wire. I have no wiring diagram so it makes it a little more difficult to locate the proper wire or the way the wires are routed.

Thanks for any advice

The best way to fix a problem like this...

Is to get a GM factory wiring diagram (would be in the GM service manual set for your year/model vehicle).

Then see what all is on this circuit.

Then find where various wires branch off this circuit and/or where there are connectors for things just on this circuit.

Then disconnect half of the things on this circuit or what you can easily remove from the circuit, and replace the fuse. This would help to narrow down the problem to specific areas.

See if the problem continues or not.

If yes, then disconnect half of the remaining connected wires.

If no, reconnect half of the disconnected wires.

Etc.

In this manner you can narrow down the problem to one specific wire/area. Then look in the factory wiring diagram to see where that wire goes, then follow that wire and find the problem.

Keep in mind that newer vehicles have computer modules all over the place. If a computer module is on this circuit, be sure to understand what it is for before removing power to it. Or add an additional in-line fuse to that wire only so it would have power during this testing.
