Osrv Mirror Swap

At least 6 months ago I was on a small mountain road, it had been raining for a few days and the wind had picked up the night before. The wind pulled a good size branch off of a tree and stuck it in the road. I came by and there was no where to go so it struck my passenger mirror and the fold mirror was pretty slow at folding compared to the driver's side.

 

A guy on here, big_red_texas_truck is his name I think, was selling a set of DL3 mirrors, so I snatched them up for a good deal. When I got them I noticed the turn signal part is a little different than mine; the new ones have a solid arrow, my arrow is made up of 7 or 8 dots. I thought for sure I was hosed. To make sure, I popped the glass off to take a look. Look near identical, the wires are routed a little different.

 

I took the door panel off to do the work, easy enough, I figured I'd lube the window track while I was there because they like to squeak sometimes. Tested the mirror to make sure it would all work out fine and it did. So now my passenger mirror is working like it should.

 

Good investment, now I have a spare fully working driver mirror and a spare semi-working passenger mirror. Took about an hour and a half to do the work which isn't bad. Sorry, no pictures but it's simple enough and there are other writeups on how to do it.
