Rough Idle

I have an 07 Suburban. I bought it in the Fall with 36k on it. It ran fine without any issues until the weather warmed up this spring. It was at that time that I began to notice a rough idle. Like a shaking chiquaqua. At least, that is how the technician at the dealership describes it. You can feel the vibration in the seat and doors etc. Seems worse after a cold start and when its warm outside around 80 degrees and up. I have brought the truck it in to the dealership several times and have been told that they cannot find anything wrong with the truck when doing the computer diagnostic.

I have read numerous other posts on this very topic. There was even one that sounded just like mine with the idle issue corresponding to the warmer temperatures outside. I can't make any sense of it and was wondering if anyone out there with the idle problem ever found a resolution.

I got to tell ya that, I feel for the guys who bought their trucks brand new, with good money, and have had the same problem.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

We all have the same problem. Most of the trucks idle poorly. Mine dose, Moms tahoe dose, friends 08 silverado dose, and a lot of members on here also. Dealer cant fix it because theres no codes. If the engine really misfires he EMC will no and turns on the check engine light.

Does it do this is park or neutral?

Or only when in R or D?

Or only when moving?

(Basically I'm trying to figure out if this is just the engine, or perhaps part of the transmission, or something else...)

Thanks for your replys VRed and Bill.

Bill, the truck vibrates at idle both in park and drive while at a stop. It seems to run fine while rolling down the road. I can say that yesterday I got in it, and it was vibrating in park. However, if I apply a little gas the vibration/ shudder stops. The dealership has been through it a few times and is not getting anything coming up on the computer diagnostic. The technicians also said plugs, wires, injectors, engine mounts, transmission are all good. No miss fire, just a rough idle that should not hurt the truck.

I know it sounds crazy but the problem did not start happening until the weather warmed up. It does not seem to do it as much or at all during colder days.

VRed does yours do it all the time regardless of the outside temp?

Thanks again guys.

All the time any weather. Maybe with yours because you have the A/c on, that can pull a lot of power out of the engine. I have been to the dealer many times, iam in the same boat as you. Mine can get really bad, out of no were it can be bad enough to shake the whole truck. My Dad Will Even say thats not right.

My 04 Silverado does the same thing. The only thing is the truck is actually misfiring (by reading the PID's in the computer.).

I have been told numerous things, and it's getting quite irritating....

I've changed plugs and wires to no avail. It's random at idle, but will run good all day long if you bring the revs up a little.
